Atelier Studio

The Lafayette Atelier offers an artist and student residency program that is perfect for the serious person in pursuit of artistic excellence that does not want to go broke doing it. For the price of renting an apartment in a major city like New York or Chicago, we can provide: detailed instruction, one or two bedroom private apartments including all utilities, high speed wireless internet, 24 hour studio access, and live models in an excellent creative and instructional environment.

The Atelier painting studio has over 1200 square feet of creative space with 25 foot vaulted ceilings and north facing natural light along with additional daylight balanced florescent lighting positioned 15 feet over head. The studio is also equipped with plenty of easels, drawing horses, casts, master copy drawings and a library containing some of the best art instruction books ever produced.

Lafayette Indiana is located in the Wabash River Valley and is adorn with wonderfully preserved 19th century architecture. Not far from Chicago or Indianapolis, the city has a growing art community and several art galleries in the downtown area. With Purdue University only just across the river from historic Lafayette, there is also a vibrant student population and all of the resources associated with a major international university, though the Lafayette Atelier is not associated with Purdue in any way academically, and may be in great contrast philosophically as to the way artists should be trained.
